Ran outside – 2miles/19:53
Pace indicates an easy run. An easy run this was not. Humidity + tired legs = I wanted to die. Then I hopped in a freezing cold pool and things were slightly better.
Warm-up: 2×25, 2×50
Drill: 2×25 pull, 2×25 kick
Ladder: 50, 75, 100, 150, 100, 75, 50
Cool down: 2×50, 2×25
There have been a lot of confession posts going around the blog world lately. I thought it’d be a fun idea, so here we are.
Confession: I haven’t been taking my own advice.
(For those of you who don’t like to listen to me nerd out about running, you can skip this confession.)
You know how I always tell all of you to do your easy runs easy and save the hard runs for speedwork?
…yeah, I haven’t been doing that.
My current schedule right now is Monday-medium distance, Tuesday-short distance+cross-training, Wednesday-medium, Thursday-short+cross, Friday-rest, Saturday-long run, Sunday-cross.
This past week, both of my medium distance runs have been hard, and my long run–while not at a hard, I’m-about-to-die pace–was definitely not at an easy, I-have-energy-to-talk-to-you pace.
Yesterday’s run–that was definitely not a I-have-energy-to-talk-to-you pace.
So…I need to work on that. I think I’m going to make one of my medium distance runs into a speed workout, and then the rest will be easy. Hopefully. Ideally. Someone just needs to come run with me and keep me from pushing too hard!
Confession: I’m having difficulty finding new blogs I like.
When I first started blogging, I followed a ton of blogs. And then I realized that I don’t have the time to spend hours upon hours every day reading and commenting on all of those blogs, so I scaled it back to a core group of bloggers I
I’m getting more efficient at the whole reading/commenting thing, and so now I’m looking for new blogs to follow. (Not that I don’t love the ones that I follow now. Just that I now have the time and capabilitiy to connect with more people.) Except…well…I don’t really like any of the ones I visit.
Sigh. I keep telling myself that in time, I’ll find new blogs. But there are so many out there…and it’s so easy to hole yourself up with the ones you already
stalk follow and not branch out at all.
Confession: I want new running shoes.
I don’t need them, yet–neither pair has super high mileage on them. But I’m getting an itch to try some new shoes.
I really want to try Mizuno Wave Riders again. I didn’t like them the first time around, but I have a good feeling about this time.
Anyone wanna contribute to my “Beth’s a poor college student but wants nice things” fund?
Confession: I ate eggs at all three meals yesterday.
Egg white oats for breakfast, egg omelette-turned scramble for lunch, and another Paleo microwave cake for dessert. (It’s really good, okay?)
Death by too much cholesterol, here I come! (I know that eating a lot of cholesterol doesn’t necessarily correlate with high cholesterol. But go with my jokes and make me feel good, kay? Kay.)
Confession Part A: I watched almost an entire season of the Bachelorette in two days.
Confession Part B: I started watching it solely because the Bachelorette was in dental school (season 7, if you wanted to know).
I was reading a dental student blog a couple of days ago. She had a post about dentists in the TV/movie world, and mentioned that season. And then I got mildly curious and decided to check it out.
I had never watched a minute of either the Bachelor or the Bachelorette before watching the season, but dare I say that I enjoyed myself? I also later found out that it was the only season where the two people are still married. Which is a little depressing if you ask me, but it is reality TV…
What are your confessions?
Ever watch the Bachelor or the Bachelorette? I’m kind of scared to watch the other seasons…being in dental school (the University of Pennsylvania, too, aka a fabulous school) implies that she’s at least somewhat smart. I don’t know if I could handle a dumb Bachelorette. Or a dumb girl on the Bachelor. Or a dumb Bachelor.
What’s something that you really, really want right now? Running shoes. Minions. Froyo. Cupcakes. Free money.
Are you good at listening to your own advice? Not at all.
