Happy Monday! I hope all you United States-ians had a fabulous Thanksgiving and have shrugged off at least part of your post-Thanksgiving stupor by now, and for all you non-U.S. people, I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
As for me, this is what I have to look forward to…
All in the next 14 days.
To procrastinate from thinking about the h-e-double-hockey-sticks that awaits me over the next two weeks, let’s talk about better days.
Over Thanksgiving break, I…
…flew a lot. (2 halfway-across-the-country-flights in less than a week kind of sucks. Especially for someone who hates flying. Trying to entertain myself for hours on end is exhausting.)
Although I’m really liking this new rule (or lack thereof) about small electronics–I can have both my Nook and my phone on for the entire flight and not get yelled at!
…ate a lot.
More details on what exactly is featured in that delightful dessert platter will be coming your way on Wednesday.
…watched this movie a lot. (Twice in less than 48 hours, to be exact.)
If any of you haven’t seen Catching Fire yet, GO. NOW. IT’S ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I saw it on Wednesday night with a friend from high school, and then again on Friday with my sister.
…cuddled with this little girl a lot.
Because anyone who wouldn’t curl up with that little ball of fur is a as heartless as the Grinch was.
(Thought that looks strangely like my sister’s hairline, it is me in that picture…)
…decorated a lot.
We decorated our house with paper snowflakes and red and green garlands and pretty lights. I completely forgot to take pictures, so these are courtesy of my sister. You can blame her for the bad photography. (Just kidding, you’re awesome for taking them and sending them to me just for the purposes of this blog.)
…studied a little.
I have three exams and a paper this week, so it was kind of necessary.
…kind of shopped.
Thanksgiving night, after all of our guests had left, my mom, my sister, and I decided to venture out into that scary world for an hour or two. I vowed earlier in the week that I wouldn’t go shopping on Thanksgiving because the whole idea is a little ridiculous, but it was either stay up for a little longer or be dragged out of bed at goodness knows how early in the morning. The former won.
My mom bought two rugs for our house and my sister got a shirt, but by like midnight my sister and I were getting really cranky so our shopping trip wasn’t very long at all.
…did not run.
I was contemplating doing the Runner’s World Holiday Running Streak for kicks and giggles, but then too much was happening over break and it just got pushed to the back burner. I’m not concerned about, because I had a fantastic break and there’s so much more to life than running. I might jump into the Runner’s World streak starting today, though.
And to make your Monday even more marvelous, here’s a picture of Rosie in a Santa costume just because.
She hated us for doing this to her. Poor girl.
Did you have an AWESOME Thanksgiving?
Did you go Black Friday shopping? (On Thursday or Friday?)
DID YOU SEE CATCHING FIRE?! DID YOU LOVE IT?! –> totally non-negotiable.
And for an actual question… have you ever done a running streak?
