Huge apologies for not being around much last week.
Huger apologies for not replying to all of your comments.
Last week was the craziest/most chaotic/busiest week I’ve ever had in my entire life. So that’s why I was gone.
I don’t know how active I’ll be in the next week–I’ll have a lot more time in the sense that I essentially have to show up for my finals but the rest of it is mine during which I can do what I wish, but I’ll be a tad busy (you know, just a little thing called finals) so we’ll see. I’m aiming for posting at least three times this week, including today! (Small goals, people.)
We have these two days (Monday and Tuesday) off to study, and then finals go from Wednesday to Tuesday of next week. I have one take home final (due on Wednesday that I finished yesterday–yay for being proactive!), a final on Wednesday, and a final on Sunday (yes, finals are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday too), and then I’m going home on Monday!
But before I get ahead of myself, here’s my weekend in pictures:
Celebrated the last day of classes on Friday with the best Rocky Road ice cream EVER. Because having ice cream outside when it’s 35 degrees is a brilliant idea.
Decorating our residential college’s Christmas tree!
Saturday morning long run in a feels like temperature of 26 degrees, the coldest weather I’ve ever run in so far. (Yes, I am wearing capris, and strangely, I wasn’t cold while I was running. When I stopped, however…) It started sprinkling in the last few miles, hence the droplets on my Garmin.
2013 C-USA CHAMPIONS, BABY! Storming the field after the football game on Saturday. It was our first outright football conference championship in 56 years, so it was kind of a (really) big deal.
Sweets and Treats study break, during which different people associated with our residential college baked foods for us to eat and we subsequently pick the top 3 of. My plate included chocolate pudding cake, a lemon cheesecake bar, flan, and a GIANT piece of strawberry shortcake. (I didn’t want to be rude and ask for a smaller piece, so I got stuck with a giant piece. Hard life, I know.)
Hashtag are finals over yet? -.- I gave myself Saturday to completely decompress from the terrible week I had just been put through, but it was back to business yesterday…with a few exceptions.
Really yummy desserts at dinner last night. The cone things are essentially cone-shaped cannolis and the pie-like things were made of some kind of cream. Those are their exact, scientific names.
Last night, my friends hosted a Christmas/Post-Hanukkah Party which included a White Elephant gift exchange. I got a stuffed reindeer Christmas ornament, which I personally think is adorable. Some other notable prizes were a giant plastic Coors Light bottle filled with popcorn, a Christmas-themed lingerie set (keep in mind this is for guys and girls), and knee-high superman socks with CAPES.
Yeah, we’re just that awesome. I really wanted the superman socks, but they had already reached their steal limit, so Rodney the Reindeer it was!
Have you ever done a White Elephant gift exchange?
Is your school a football school? Our school has historically not been a very strong sports school, but this year we’re beastin’ in football. I’m not complaining!
